Hi guys. My Mom has been gone for a few years now. I would love to take some or alot of the just regular prints of Her and our family and display them somehow where my visitors can see them.
I am not into scrapbooking.. So that isnt an option.
Any great ideas out there?
Thanks so much in advance…
Stacie
Hello Stacie.
Well the ideas by jm11680 and foofoo are certainly good ones. Just be sure to buy frames with glass that has a UV block in it – stops pictures from fading. Also make certain anything you mount a picture to is specified as being suitable for mounting pictures. If it says "archival quality" then that’s what you should buy. Check with lightimpressions.com for a detailed explanation and product list.
Unfortunately, I have to give Nena a "thumbs down". Mounting pictures to a non-archival surface is a sure way to ruin them. Using glue or tape is also a major no-no when mounting pictures.

Hi,
i would like to work on a scrapbook for my daughter Julia.
She was born in February 2007 and i never done a book like this.. Can u guys help me to get ideas to start one.
Thanks alot
Christa
I have to disagree with most here that say go with creative memories. They are just trying to get a sale out of you. Before you go and start buying things, and get out of control with getting things you don’t really need, or want, decide what kind of book you are going to do. If you want to do a babies first year, you may want to do a 2 page spread for each month. You would then know that you need to look at things that would go along with the calendar year. She was born in February, so I would do a page that has her hosptial announcement, bracelet, and a picture of her first born. I would also maybe find online things that happened on that day 10 years ago, 25 years ago, 50 years ago, and so one as far back as you can find. It will be neat for her to learn about these things when she’s old enough to understand. For march, maybe she smiled for the first time, so you would want to point that out, and maybe go with a springy theme or something.
I have found it is much easier to shop when you know what you are going to do.
Good luck and have fun! if you need more information, my email is andrea@luvs2bscrappin.com I’d be happy to help you out any way that I can!

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and getting REALLY bored. I’ve decided to start a scrapbook started…starting out with the end of my pregnancy and into (obviously) the baby’s life. What would be good to include? Do any of you guys have any interesting or different ideas for pages in the scrapbook? Thanks!! =)
Start with your 1st ultrasound pictures and a few of your growing belly. If you had a baby shower, I would add some of those in there too.
Then do any delivery room pics and the babies 1st pics…the most memorable pictures are the 1st ones every taken (in my opinion).
I love the scrap books, they always look so nice. My mom started one for me, I can’t wait until its finished.

I want to begin scrapbooking. It’s passed my mind before now I actually want to start. My friend actually got me to want to start yesterday when she was working on a scrapbook for a girl in Mali.
I have some general ideas what I need but I’d like to know what you guys think I need. I don’t have a lot of money to spend on it so can I use just like dollar store stuff or is it not good enough quality? So can you please give me some suggestions of what to guy and a estimate price on each item.
Any tips? I plan to just have a basic scrapbook. I think I’m going to start with a book of all my family members. Then maybe do have a lifeevents scrapbook. Then like a dog or cat themed one. Please any advise you have is welcome.
Hi, your scrapbooking basic tool kit should include, Paper trimmer (Friskars sells some nice ones), Ruler, small scissors, Journaling pen, adhesive, and paper. now it all depends on what you want out of your scrapbook .. Simple Page Design
THE IMPORTANCE OF AUALITY PRODUCTS
As you select and purchase products to use in your album, it’s important to use only those that help to preserve your memories for log-term enjoyment. Chose Archival, Acid free and lignin-free products. Archival products are free of those elements that over time will deteriorate your precious memories, Acid is a harmful, destructive element that will ruin a scrapbook page and photos over time. Always select lignin-free paper for your scrapbook — paper which has had all lignin (the natural acidic glue found in wood pulp) removed. Most lignin–free paper is also buffered, meaning it contains an additional layer of protection for your photos.
HERE ARE TEN EASY STEPS TO CREATING A SCRPABOOK LAYOUT::
1. Select 3-5 related photos (per page). Choose
photos with similar themes and colors or use
one large, stand-alone photo.
2. Choose papers. Select background paper, then coordinating matte papers. Double and triple
mattes offer more depth to your pages.
3. Decide on accent and/or focal point stamps.
Photo frame stamps, focal point, or border
stamps add excitement to any page.
4. Crop Photos. Use fancy paper edgers,
templates, corner rounders or straight lines to
crop your photos. You can also crop the photo
right around the subject, carefully trimming
around the edges. Not all photos should be
cropped:
• Never crop a Polaroid photo because of
chemical leakage.
• Don’t trim away historical background such
as cars, furniture or landscape that will help
describe the period of time, location, etc.
5. Cut matte papers for cropped photos. Mattes
could silhouette the shape of the photo or be
used as an offset, accent piece. Use solid
colored or background & texture papers.
6. Arrange photos on the page. Move photos
around until you find a pleasing arrangement.
7. Decorate pages with stamps. Beautiful borders,
corners and titles can be added with stamps.
After journaling your page, add accents and
texture stamps as needed.
8. Secure paper and photos with acid-free adhesive.
Use both permanent (photo stickers) and
removable (photo corners) adhesives.
9. Add journal pages. A variety of journaling
techniques and colors will add variety to pages.
Be sure to include a date on every page.
10. Slip completed page into a page protector

Hey guys!
My partner will be leaving again for University in the fall, and I wanted to give him something of "us" to bring with him. I’d put a lot of thought into it, and decided to make him a scrapbook to bring with him, as he is very sensitive and thoughtful, and this would be perfect. I have a lot of experience in scrapbooking and have been doing it for years now, but I need some help!
I am looking for some interesting and creative ideas as of what to put inside of it. For example, what I have already lined up:
1. Attach envelopes to pages including letters for him to read [Perhaps one per month that he's away] and/or empty envelopes for him to put the letters from me that he will receive in the mail.
2. CD paper cases attached to pages including CD’s of "our" songs, and songs that remind me of him, and/or videos of us together/videos I’ve made or will make for him/video entries to him.
3. Poems, songs, pictures, movie tickets, stubs, etc
4. "About Us" page.
I know that typically that covers most scrapbooks, and then some, so I need VERY creative and interesting ideas to add to this scrapbook!
Note that I will be using a pre-made book with heavy duty pages (not as thin as paper)
Thanks guys!
You have some lovely ideas and I am sure your scrapbook will be something he treasures. I like the ideas you already have and those suggested by others.
I thought of a couple more page ideas for you. How about making:
- a hopes and dreams page
- ‘Favourite’ pages – your (mutual) favourite foods, people (friends and family and/or pets he might miss), places like restaurants, camping spots, swimming holes, picnic spots etc or wherever you have both built memories
- An encouragement page for when he misses you a lot
- an ‘eyes on the prize’ page to keep him focused on why he is studying so he will hurry back to you
- a funniest moments you have shared together page
- some blank pages so you can send him updates on things that happen while he is away
- a glamourous page – of you of course, all made up and looking fabulous
- a ‘reasons why I love you’ page
Since you are experienced in scrapbooking you may already have thought of using unusual items in your album – wallpaper to remind him of home, dress fabric from your formal, chipboard shapes, textured materials like sandpaper, velvet, mesh, paint etc. These can all add an element of the unusual to your scrapbook as it depends on your own imagination how you can link these items in to your special memories and pages….
I made a romantic chipboard tag album that might spark an idea or two, especially as it was made so I could add to it year by year:

Have a great time with your special project and all the very best for your future.

I have been buying tons of scrapbook papers, ect,
but I suddenly have a creative block and I really want to do
a page.
I’ve been looking for insipiration, but I can never get it clearly.
I have tons of pictures of my dogs, family, childhood photos, traveling, and I have a digital camera.
But, I just can’t think of anything!
So do you guys have tips or tricks or websites for insipiration?
Thank you so much. Everything helps.
I get tons of inspiration from the Creating Keepsakes magazine website. Once you get there click on "Gallery" and you can see lots of pages that readers have posted. There are lots of new posts every day so you can check back often for ideas. You can also post your own to inspire others. Hope this helps! Happy scrapping!

I want to surprise my wife with some stuff for scrapbooking for her birthday and I was wondering if you guys think she would like these. I have heard her mention etsy before. I want to give her something that is hip to the scrapbooking world but I don’t know anything about it. What would you buy from here?
www.vmilan.etsy.com
She likes to shop at etsy for some reason. Thats why I went there first.
You said your were new to scrapbooking, here is a site for beginners and it will tell you what you need to get started and will get you through the basics of the craft. Hope you both have fun with it.
